General Secretary Tu Hanqiao sends condolences to YMCA of Korea over ferry sinking
【A Korea ferry carrying over 470 passengers sank off the country's southwestern coast on April 16. Many passengers died or are still missing. Most of the passengers are students, among whom some are student members of YMCA. Mr. Tu Hanqiao sends his condolences to his counterpart in Korea and his letter is as follows. 】

Dear Mr. Nam,
It was a tragic shocking that the passenger ferry sank on April 16 and left hundreds of passengers dead or missing. I feel even more grieved to know that most of the passengers are teenage school children, among whom some are high school student members of YMCA. At this sorrowful moment, my staff and myself would send our sympathy to you and those families that have lost their kids and that are still in searching of the missing kids. We wish we could share your sadness and worries.
Hereby, on behalf of the National Council of YMCAs of China and our local associations, I convey our heartfelt and profound condolences to the victims and their families. We sincerely pray, may you be comforted in God’s grace, may a calm and undisturbed repose be with the victims, may the missing be watched with peace.
